Why can't Optimise be used with a Solar Diverter?

The Optimise product will not function as intended if you have a Solar Diverter in operation.

Solar Diverters, such as iBoost or Eddi, use any surplus energy generated by your solar panels to heat water or charge an electric vehicle.

Optimise works by exporting electricity back to the grid when export prices are high. However, if a Solar Diverter is active at the same time, it will capture that surplus electricity before it can be exported. Instead, it will redirect the energy to your electric vehicle charger or hot water heater. This means you will not receive any export payments for that electricity.

As a result, Optimise will calculate savings based on the assumption that the electricity was sold back to the grid, which will lead to inaccurate savings figures being shown.
